NHMS enhanced learning management

NHMS participated in another very important event in Darmstadt, Germany, from the 14^th to the 17^th of November, 2011. Supported by EUMETSAT, as an organizer, during these 3 days, the experiences of this eminent institution about learning management were presented.

This portal's regular visitors know that we formed our own educational center in September this year (http://meteo.gov.mk/moodle), based on the same open source software (Moodle).

Our educational center (based on the Moodle software) is opened for cooperation with all the institutions that have an idea for expanding this concept as much as possible.

Some of you will certainly remember that until few years ago, the data archiving systems (data bases) were widely used! During the last several years the accent was transferred to the content management systems, whereas the learning management systems have become very important during the last year.

NHMS on Meteoalarm.eu

Warnings for today

Starting from the 14^th of October 2011, the Republic of Macedonia has been regularly publishing warnings on the portal Meteoalarm.eu, which is a part of the European initiative, Eumetnet (an association of European national meteorological services).

Owing to this service, which will further be enriched with more functions, you will be able to efficiently plan your needs during your travels, or during any activity that may be obstructed by weather conditions.

ECMWF ACCS-17, Podgorica, Montenegro

As an accompanying member of the ECMWF (European center for middle range forecast) with headquarters in Reading, United Kingdom, NHMS participated in the meeting held on October 17^thin Podgorica, Montenegro. On the Advisory Committee of countries with an associate status annual meeting, several issues were discussed.
